when you pick up a handset and dial a number, if you dial real slow you wont see all the numers you dialed but the call goes thru. if you dial fast you can see all the digits in the display. is there anyway to increase the timing on that. ip500

yep
dial delay counter in the system settings.

Reason for that is that you wait 4 seconds (default) and then the system picks up the line (analog I presume) and dials the digits you dialed then you keep hitting more digits and send that down the line so the line provider still takes them.

You have to be a pretty slow dialer to get that result though.

should I bump that up to 6 or just leave it. its only 1 old lady complaining

I would bump it for her but specify the number of digits in the ARS so that the system dials immediately after getting the 10 digits for local or 1 + 10 for long distance calls. That way nobody will actually notice.

I usually put into the ARS these SC's
xxxxxxxxxx
Dial
N
Line ID

for local calls

1xxxxxxxxxx
Dial
1N
Line ID

for LD calls

you still need the 0N; shortcode because overseas has no set number of digits but that way the old lady can take her time and everyone else will be faster than at the moment with just the usual N; shortcodes in the ARS
