dialing access code

I have a nortel system that is not sending out the number 8 when entering an access code. I did a trace and i can see the numbers being dialed but it doesn't go through when there is a number 8 in the code. This is also the case with vm access. If there is a 8 in the pin it doesn't recognize it, otherwise it works fine. Any suggestion...?
 
Is this for all phones or just 1 phone? If all - you might start by looking for TDS errors in the midnight routines. If one phone, replace it.
