Since installing win2000 I have had problems reconnecting to my ISP after disconnecting,

The first time I connect everything works fine, but if i disconnect then try and reconnect then I can only get as far as "verifying username and password", then it just stops (it doesn't crash, everything still works fine)

The only way for me to reconnect is to restart my computer, which is obviously a hassle.

My modem is a rockwell chipset 56k v.90 standard,

I have tried moving the modem to different pci slots, changing the drivers and reinstalling win2000, but none of these have worked.

any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Can't you allow your user this permission in local security?
Admin tool>local system secuity>local policy>user rights assignment.

Thanks for the suggestions, but i am still having no luck

I have tried adding an init string from the suggested webpage, but that does not appear to work

With respect to the allowing permission in local security, I cannot see a relevent policy, and the problem is present even when I log on as an administrator.

Sorry, posted response to wrong thread. I would set up a new connection and abandon the one you are currently using, ( I had to do this a couple time to get share established) also W2K seems to add aditional items to the password, this does not affect my ISP but it seems I have seen others have problems in this area , try manually putting in your password and see if that helps.
