I have a dialup connection that goes through a local ISP. Until yesterday I have always had the password stored in the dial-up box.

When I now go to connect I have to enter my password and cannot save it. I have tried renaming the password file within windows 98 to try and make it create a new one in case the old one was corrupt but that hasn't worked.

Any ideas?

What OS are you running on? If it is Windows 98/me try login in the windows profile instead of Esc it.

If this doesnt help try uninstalling and reinstalling communicatios under Add Remove Program.

Normally, passwords, permissions and networks are interlinked.

If you have TweakUI installed, have a look at the PARANOIA tab and uncheck "clear last user at logon".

There are some FAQ's on this subject. Regards
Phil

Do you still have Microsoft Family Logon in your Network Configuration? You need this to save your logon password.

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Network->Configuration Tab->Add Button->Client->Microsoft Family Logon.

You should now be able to save your password.
