I access Internet from my laptop (Winx XP Pro) over gateway, within a LAN. But from few days ago, when I tried to browse Internet it always ask me to connect to through the dial-up!? I have checked Internet Options in Internet Explorer / Connections and it is set Never a dial connection. It seems that dial-up is default (prior gateway) but I do not know to set it back :(

Pls any advise, thanks!

Laki.

If you don't use the dial-up, you can just remove it.

Cheers,
Dian

Sometimes I need dial-up, ex. when I travel.

Do you see a reference to your Gateway IP?

To delete a name or address entry from the list: Start, Run, regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\RAS Autodial\Addresses

You can delete any TCP/IP addresses that you see under this key. AutoDial can use IP addresses, DNS fully qualified domain names (FQDN), and NetBIOS names. Look for your Gateway IP.
----------------------

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

Create a new REG_BINARY value named "EnableAutodial", and set the new value to equal "01 00 00 00" to enable autodial or "00 00 00 00" to disable it.
