Hi

I want to know how can I change the dial tone differentiate between the system tone and after pressing 9 as AC1 to access PRI trunk. There no different between the normal tone and the trunk dial tone. I have tried to change the route FTC table and change DIAL code in the FTC table but it is still the same even after restarting the system.

Thanks.

What do you mean system tone and Dial 9 tone, there isn't any PRI TONE.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I don't thing it's possible,I know the old Rolm switches could do it but not really sure about Nortel.

hi

yes PRI tone. when i pick up the handset i am getting dial tone from the system after i press 9 it will give me the same dial tone.i want to change the dial tone after pressing 9.

thanks.

PRI's do not have Dial Tone, both Dial tone's are from the switch. I don't think you can get a different tone.

ld 57 flexable tones and cadence, you can change any tone in the switch.. after you make the change it has to download to the network cards..

a little tricky, make a change, test it, no change... disl 32 enll 32, change is now on loop 32 0/1.. or you can run midn..

What you asked for is a different tone after you dial 9 for AC1. The answer is yes.

In LD 86 ESN block change DLTN to NO.
Then in LD 56
REQ chg
TYPE ftc
TABL 0
SRC yes
SRC1
XTON 3
XCAD 0

<cr> thru all the other prompts.

Still in LD 56.
REQ new
TYPE dtad
DDGT 9
TONE src2
DDGT <cr>

You should now have different tone after dialing 9.
This applies to a small switch. If you are doing it on a large switch you might get a somewhat different response but the idea should be the same.
You can change the XTON (tone) and XCAD (cadence) to get what you want.
This is described, sort of, in the features NTP under Special Dial Tones after Dialed numbers.

good response, i have not played with that in years.. i pointed him to the cure, you nailed it

Thanks guys.
I meant to add that you need to be careful that you aren't changing something that's in place for another purpose.
For instance SRC1 could be used for customized attendant intercept.
And of course you want to print everything before changing it.
