Dial Short code not working correctly 1

I'm managing a system that uses long distance codes managed by the Service Provider and trying to come up with a way to allow forwarding or twinning to a long distance number. Manager won't allow me to use commas if I try to set it like this 915555551213,,12345. I figured I could try this with a short code instead but I'm having trouble getting a "Dial" short code to work with any number, even a local one. I have it setup like this:
Code: #77
Feature: Dial
Telephone Number: 95551212
Line Group (tried 0,1 and 50)

The odd thing is that while I was trying the different line groups, I was able to make once successful call but after that call no others would succeed. I just get a message that the number I have dialed is not in Service. If I look at the call in Monitor, the called number does reflect what I set my short code to dial.

Any ideas?

There is nothing wrong with the Dial feature in shortcodes, never has been on any release.
If you see it sending the number as programmed then it's not the system at fault, it's the provider not liking what you're sending or the speed/dial method you're sending it with

The telephone number should not have the 9 in front of the 5551212

Appreciate it Tommy, that was the issue. Why is this the case with Short Codes, when all other outbound calling requires the 9?

9N is a short code, that strips the 9 before sending it to a line group or ARS.

Why are you setting a shortcode to dial a specific number anyway?

it is not needed for call forwarding

There are account codes required for long distance calls and there is a slight pause before the user is prompted for them. When trying to forward to a number outside of the local area we need some way to insert a pause and that code. Forwarding doesn't allow commas or any other pause method that I'm aware of.

that does make things a little more complex
you will not be able to send the account code as part of the call forward.

you will need a short code that overrides the need to enter an account code, if you then configure an account code with a cli that matched to outbound call it should be automatically assigned.

unfortunally this will only be of use if the destination is fixed & will not change
