I am looking for instructions on dialing into my MLM 007 via modem.

I want to reset the call counters.

I understand the Internal Modem is on port 7.

I tried to transfer via *T to the extension on that port. (and all the others for that matter)

I have gotten the Modem Tone in the past but I cant recreate the circumstance.

Additional Info:

I want to be able to print the report titled:

"MERLIN LEGEND MAIL R1 CONFIGURATION" so that I can check my changes.

It's been a long time since I've done this, but the internal modem should be on port 7 of the 007 MLM. Baud rate 1200, 8-N-1. If it doesn't answer I'd have to assume it's defective.

You could connect one of the external modems (Remote Maintenance Device) to the serial port and use an available analog station port to access the 007 MLM.

Thanks Brian,

It definately works. I had a ace consultant ( you know who you are ) use it recently.

Here is my procedure, I am missing something I am sure.

1.) Place NPA-NXXX as Line for Calling Group 770 (which is VM)
2.) AA answers I press *7
3.) Login to 9997
4.) Press *T
5.) Dial Extension for Port 7

The Nice Lady says "Your call can not be transfered to XXX"

Are there some prequalifiers to use it that I might have changed. Or is there a special code I don't know.

I am calling in with a regular phone expecting to here MODEM tones.

Ok,

I think I got it.

Set Remote access on Line in WinSPM to Dedicated
Barrier codes off to make it easy for this session
After stutter tone, dial Extension for port 7.
Got a MODEM tone.

Now I just need a PC with a modem :)

No need to log into 9997 first, ceate a mailbox for the mode extension number, with a class of service of 20. Then use *8 (*T for Transfer) and the mode extension number.

Thanks TouchToneTommy

I got in by just extension dial to port 7 on RemoteAccess. I am going to try your method as well for more flexibility. When I am very confident I will try the loopback I have heard of from MerlinMan.
