I have a Nortel 61C switch with software version 25.30. I need to set up a system where someone dialing an emergency phone number would have his or her call directed to multiple phones at the same time. All these phones would continue to ring until answered or the originator terminated the call. The system would need to function like Group Call except it would need to be activated by any phone dialing the emergency number.

If the sets receiving the call are all system phones, you could program an MCR key on each of these with the emergency

I have never used MCR and can not find any clear information on it. Will it cause all the phones with that key on them to keep ringing even when one of them is picked up? Also, what do you mean by "system phone"?

He means all the phones are on the same system. MCR means Multicall ring and as soon as some answers it stop ringing on the other phones. the phones should have a key 0, and it should be programed as a SCR xxxx. so if there is an extra key on the phone just program a new key with MCR yyyy.
y is the emergency phone number.

What I need is some way to have all the phones keep ringing until answered or the call is terminated by the originator, like they do in a Group Call. We have our own medical and security personnel and both need to pick up on all emergency calls.

Is there some additional equipment that would support this requirement. Anyone have any Ideas?

What I said above will do what you ask, the number will ring until someone answers or the caller hangs up. No additional equipment is need other than all phones must have a spare key available.

What I have encountered when doing this is, if the MARP set is set to roll to vmail or another extension, the calls going to the MCR key will also roll to vmail, and they will get "The person you are calling is not a subscriber to voicemai.." or something like this.

I have asked for a clear solution to this problem and have not been able to fix. What I did to patch this problem, is to set up a phantom loop and build an analog port that does not forward, and this "fixed" it.

Not the prettiest, and maybe someone will be able to get you a better solution.

If you want the phone to ring till someone answers, make sure that the phone that has the MARP does not have CFA,HTA,
MWA and no mail box.
