Hi Guys,

Does someone knows what I need to setup, to be able to dial number with +1 321... from UCA desktop tool?
(It concerns the synced Outlook contacts). Anytime I choose a contact (from desktop tool), i am unable to dial out. The problem is that it just removes the +. The country code remains.

I need to find a way to remove the country code or add two extra zeros in place of the +.

I was playing around with the modem and phone options, but so far no luck.

Thanks.

Edit dialing rules.

Control Panel> Phone and Modem> Edit Dialing Rules> Area Code Rules

Thank you for your reply.

But what do I need to add as rule?
Let's say I want to dial +31 (20)65xxxxx.

Without any Area Code Rule the number will be dialed as 0312065xxxxx. For this to work I would need two extra zeros.
I have added a rule where area code (31). I chosen (Include all the prefixes within this area code). As rule I say dial (00).

But doesn't matter what I change, Mitel desktop tool still dials the number with the same format.

I have recently been asked to fix this for a customer.
I was planning on adding some ars to do the digit modifications

Ill let you know if it works

Mine is in australia and they are dialling 613 9xxxxxxx
I was going to add ars for 6139+7 to strip 2 and add 0 to make 039xxxxxxx which is an australian number

ARS is the only way to go I am afraid
I had to compile a full international ARS list with 9xxx then using digit mod absorbing the 9 and inserting 00 so now all international number that are dialled through outlook with +1 xxx will now dial 001xxx
I still have the import spreadsheet with all the country prefixes if you need a copy.

That may be helpfull thanks.

Mine gets worse

I have 7 networked sites that are currently set to strip full number and send as 5 digit via xnet.

eg 0881234567 is a network site ext number is 34567
If someone dials full number i strip prefix and send 34567 via xnet
And they allow local hopoff for non network numbers

Now i also need to break out 61881234567 and do the same
and also break out other 6188xxxxxxx as well ....

Then repeat the process for all 7 sites .,

Life would be easy if UCA had dialling rules on the server for this.

uCA does support canonical but the server needs to be setup accordingly
- UCA server in pbxnode - dont use access code for external call
-Client - set windows dialling rules for correct location

To dial from client
- enter access code followed by number to dial
or
- enter canonical number in this format
+ Country/RegionCode (AreaCode)SubscriberNumber
eg
+61 x yyyyyyyy
or
+1 (4xx) yyy-yyyy
or
+61(04)238yyyy5
+61(0)423yyyy85
+61(4)23yyyy85
+61-4-23yyyy85

You can also dial these numbers if they contain a space.

+61 4 23yyyy85

UCA basically needs to be able to determine the country code and area code and number.

As long as dialling rules are set to add access code then it should work
