I have a pri connection on CS1000E Rls5 with ACOD 9 ,telephone sets are 3902.PRI appears to work normally ,we CAN CALL with out any problem to any outside number.
but when we dial to any external voicemail extension ,
After it answers the call, and digits are pressed from 3902 we get no respons from the voice mail on the other side and the call can not be completed .

Is the problem from telephones ( 3902) programming or on PRI rout ???

Regards

On the Route Data Block, reduce the TIMR EOD and ODT to 384 each.

do you think this only the problem , what other else i have to check ???

this is the timer on pri rout :
TIMR ICF 512
OGF 512
EOD 13952
NRD 10112
DDL 70
ODT 4096
RGV 640
FLH 510
GTO 896
GTI 896
SFB 3
NBS 2048
NBL 4096

I'm certain that's the only problem.

does the DIP OR DTN ON pri channels has effect ??

It goes without saying you should be DTN. Since your Central Office is capable of providing PRI, certainly they are capable of offering Touch Tone/DTMF service.

Ok GHTROUT ,I will try what you suggist.

thanks alot

Call another telephone and press digits once the call is answered. Are DTMF tones received? Press the # key and press more digits. Are DTMF tones received?

Set the EOD timer to 4096 (4 seconds). If EOD and ODT are set lower there is a risk of calls entering EES (end to end signaling) mode while the user is still dialing the telephone number. Think of EOD and ODT as inter digit timers. Pressing the # key over rides the EOD and ODT timers places the call in EES mode which in turn allows for the sending of DTMF tones once the call is setup.

IF 9 is the ACOD code of the trunk route and FRL indexes are not built this too will stop the sending of DTMF tones post call setup. Routing calls through NARS/BARS over the route will not encounter this problem.

I don't think the EOD and ODT will ever expire until the connect message has been received from Telco on PRI. I might be wrong, but I've never found you can misdial or short dial on PRI.

Also, since you are using PRI, verify EEST in the FTR_DATA of the customer data block is set to NO. Change in LD 15, print in LD 21.

GHTROUT

You just might be correct on the EOD and ODT timers.
With PRI the the settings of these timers may not place much of a role at all. I have encountered many in service pbx's in recent years with these timers set at the default of near 14 seconds with no affect on calls noticed by the customer.

I know, it's a sticky one. What I *think* the case is, is this:

When the call connect message is received, the call is essentially connected, and the EOD/ODT could, in theory, be as low as 128. However, the timers, if set to say 20 seconds, would stop you from outpulsing for those 20 seconds...

But, this is all unconfirmed :)

We have no idea what you have done so far. I would do one thing at a time. If that one thing does not resolve it, say so, and then do the next thing.

I mean, if the EOD/ODT resolved the problem, why keep working on it. If it did not resolve the problem, then tell us.

because your dialing acod and not using ac 1, your going to have problems.. when you get answer supervision, your dtmf rec drops.. you can no longer touch tone from a digital set.. if it did not drop you would need a dtr per out call..

solution: change the acod, make 9 ac 1, set up bars.. the timers will cause that exact problem using acod dialing.. but this time look closer to home.. your switch is not programed to offer dtmf past the timers
