Is there a spot on a Merlin Magix R2 to change the dial delay (this is a PRI 100DS1 Module)? I can't seem to find anywhere you could change that setting. The client is complaining that since switching providers they are receiving a 4 second delay before it tries to put the call through. The provider is stating it doesn't see the call hit their router for 4 seconds so it's not their issue, it's the Magix.

yes their is. From the main screen look in Options (I Think). In their their is a field called "Inter-Digit". When you touch Inter-digit it asks you for which one of 9 timers (1-9). Select 9. Default is set to 5 seconds. The system waits 5 seconds before determining that you are done dialing. Don't set this too short otherwise customers will complain they are getting cut off during dialing if they have to look at a sheet of paper to finish a number. If they wish to outpulse the number instantaneously you can end the dialstring with a # and it forces it to go out that nano-second. Good Luck

Thank you. I thought it was called Inter-digit, but I kept looking under lines/trunks and PRI. Thanks for pointing me the right way!

The easiest way to fix that problem with no programming: just add the # sign after inputting the number you are calling. It can be added to the Speed Call lists also.

All PRIs work that way, because the switch can't set up the call until it has all the digits! The sooner it gets the digits the faster the call is set up! The # tells the switch "that's all folks!" put the call thru!
