Hello, I am trying to set up the auto attendant to allow the caller to be prompted to dial the extension number. For example "if you know the ext of the person you are calling you may enter it anytime during this greeting" this is not working.

We had a Nortel and the Call Pilot would let you not only dial a selector code for example press 1 for Sales, 2 for Service etc. Also you could dial a 3 digit extension number like 204.

As soon as I dial 2 it sends me to Service. From what I read I would have to create a prompt that would require the caller to first press a selector code like 2 then they would hear "please enter your ext. number" only then it would transfer the caller.

Unlike the Call Pilot that would require the caller to have to press another button first. This is a real pain for regular callers who should be able to enter the ext. as soon as the Auto Atnd. answers. Is there a solution?

We have a IP Office 500 7.0 with Embedded VM

With Embedded you need to create a second AA off the main for dialling extn otherwise chances are it will overlap with your menu options....

Thank you. When I do that how will the caller access that AA? Won;t they still have to press a button just to get to that AA?

Thank you

Yes. You would have to say to dial by extension, press 5 (or whatever) which would send it to AA2 where option 2 would be set to dial by extension.

you have to do what hsm says and the answer to your question is yes , or you can pick a number high up the digit range and change your extns to match that high digit

Thanks. BTW on a new basic system with the 8.0 software is TWINING included as a standard feature? I know 7.0 it was an optional feature and had to be added?

Thank you
