We have a switchboard with a dial-by-name feature. The operator answers a call, looks for the person. When the dir is found the operator hits a button and the call is connected.
I know a string is sent via a PC to the ICU card in the MD110. Does anyone know the format of the string?
We are looking at building our own db and interface. Details later.

Many Thanks

PC is connected to ICU using standard V.24 interface.

If you badly need to get string format, just make parallel connection to TX-chain in this cable with the output on the another PC with pure terminal program.

Grabbing output info you can get all you need.

Regards

Try this

ctrlB 08 extn port ctrlM ctrlJ

From a comms app try typing the previous line.

If you configure the comms app to ANSI BBS you will
see a smilie face for ctrlB.

Example

ctrlB 08 2110 00 ctrlM ctrlJ
