IP Office R7 Embedded vm. We set up # for dial by name action. Set the setting for last name. made sure name is recorded in mailbox *05, and full name in user setting. When I get the AA and press # then the system promts me to dial the last name and #. We get name not found. Seems very simple but it won't work! I also did an upgrade to the most recent version of r7 yesterday, and still nothing. I read a few post about blackberry or other cell with no DTMF but I've tried from POTS as well. What am I missing???

Has the user recorded his greeting?

Saludos..

if you log into the mailbox (*17) and then do a *05, and then hit 1, do you hear the recorded name?

There's been a few times when I've recorded things with embedded (names, greetings, AA greetings) where I was sure I'd recorded them properly, and they didn't seem to stick for some reason.

I know you say you've recorded it, but what you're describing is exactly symptomatic of having NOT recorded it.

I've also had times when I recorded a name and it didn't stick. I would follow GB's advice and double check to make sure the name is there.

Thanks guys. Im not on sight, but was told *05 is recorded. I will have them double check.

Thanks everyone. Customer swears the names were recorded. I think manager was open, then the names were recorded, then changes were made and config was sent to the box and it erased the names. It works now!

It shouldn't have, all Manager does is overwrites the .cfg file which is basically just text, it doesn't effect .wav or .clp files etc......but I have seen stranger things happen :)

I think the customer THINKS he recorded the names, but actually didn't...

I'm not paranoid, but for embedded greetings, names, AA's menu's etc. I always record, save, listen, get out and either dial the thing to listen, or go back in and listen again. Amazing the number fo times it hasn't 'stuck'.
