Dial By Name Go To Mailbox

Is it possible from the company directory to dial by name and be sent straight to a mailbox?

No it will ring the set first unless it is a guest mailbox.

Im not sure why you would want that but depending on size of company you could use the CCR tree.

Example have people press 1 for listing.
Create path 1 as a menu
Record everybodys name and their ext # put say *221

* then an ext will go straight to a mailbox.

The reason we need to do this is because there are no CCR trees and no free ports left to attach a phone. The site is a school. Its used when parents call in. They go to the company directory, type in the teachers name and go to that phone. They don't want the phone to ring in the room. Also some rooms don't even have a phone, just a mailbox that they check daily.

Well if the Message For You is not a big deal on the diplay you could just creat Phantom mailboxes for all the teachers and have no association to the sets in the class.

i.e Teacher 1 is ext 301 with mailbox 401

Also what veriosn/model vmail is it?

Its a callpilot in the BCM 400. Would the phantom mailboxes work with the dial by name?

A feature was added not sure what version but in the greetting table there is a check box to disable DN dialing. Not sure if this effects the directory.
