Hi!

I have a PC which I fear I have broken in some way. It's a Celeron 333 - based PC with a Jetway motherboard.
I borrowed the RAM and graphics card from this PC to do some fault-finding on another computer - when I put it back in and switched the borrowed PC back in, the PC didn't work ...

I get nothing coming up on the monitor at all - I've tried switching monitors and graphics cards with no success. The HD whirs briefly at boot-up.

I have sometimes recieved the 'BEEP-(pause)-BEEP-(pause)-BEEP' noise after I have tried taking the RAM out and replacing it again. However, additional attempts at reseating the RAM have stopped the beeping, but the PC still does not work.

Can anybody tell me what I should do next?

Time to try replacement RAM. You could also try reseating it multiple times to break thru any corrosion.
Some M/Bs error if no RAM, some don't. But all with bad RAM will fail to POST correctly. And without POST you don't get video splash screen. Ed Fair

Why did you start replacing stuff? What was the first problem it had? Start simple, remove the cables from the mother board. The hard drive, cdrom and floppy. The only things you need connected are the keyboard, mouse, floppy and video, sorry at least one good stick of memory. Then boot up to see what happens. If you get video i.e. you see ram counting up or and bios display in black and white then you know your way to finding your problem. Next connect up your hard drive after turning off your computer. And reboot if your O/S loads then turn it off and connect another device. If it dont boot with the basics keyboard, mouse ect. Get a cheap pci video card you can get it from a computer repair shop for $10 or $15 bucks and try that if you still get beeps check your mother board manual to be sure you have the right memory, or go to their web site. Memory is cheap, buy a new stick and try that.
