I have been trying to setup the new I2004-B string in my DHCP server. Here is an example of what I have tried

option 128 Nortel-i2004-B,s1ip=x.x.x.x;p1=4100;etc..

The phones are 1140E running C6E firmware. Is there anything I am missing?

Can someone help..we are trying to roll out dhcp B otion on new 5.5 1120 and 1140 sets but the sets come up in native data vlan dont know why????heres the scope..we are trying to assign vlan 10 for data and vlan 40 100F for voice

Nortel-i2004-B, slip=10.29.xx.xx; p1=4100; a1=1; r1=255 ; s2ip=10.29.xx.xx; p2=4100;a2=1; r2=2; menulock=u;
vq=y; pc=y; pcs=100; pcd=f; dq=y; dv=y; dvid=10

Look at teekow's post above. That should solve your issue.

Hint- Option 128.

If you want to set the voice vlan using DHCP you need to setup an ASCII "VLAN-A:40." on option 128,144,157,191, or 251.

On your data vlan, you should have option 128 set with the string "VLAN-A:xx" in your DHCP scope settings as 12oz says. Then in your voice VLAN, you should have option 128 set with the string "Nortel-i2004-B...."

The "xx" in the data vlan string will be the number you use to designate the voice vlan in your switch.
