Hello All,

Im trying to set up a dhcp sever for my internal home network. Can anyone piont me to some good info on how to set it up.

I have 2k srv on main system with 2 nics.
first nics is connecteed to Cable modem 2nd nic will connect to hub for internal network.

1st give you nics a static ip range then go to configuring your server in administrative tools this will give you a intuitive way to set up DHCP. Basically you define a range of addresses for the dhcp to hand out. You can also configure dns default gateways etc..

I am using the same thing at home but using DSL.... You need to do some tweeking in the RRAS, and when you run the NAT function you will do a one to many. I have found out when you use the dhcp it really pisses off NAT on the server. In order for me to work around this I defined a scope through DHCP, and then had to go to each workstation (all of 3 in my house) and give them a static private IP address. It took me 1 and a half weeks of reading everything about Win2k to find out they do not tell you this in any book. When do a NAT 1 to many you half to use static private ip addresses in all your workstations.
