I am setting up a Windows 2000 Advanced Server and I am having a bit of trouble. I have 2 Network Adapters, One adapter is used to connect to the Internet with a static IP address. How should the other one that will be connected to my network be configured to provide IP addresses? I am missing something and I am seeking your help.

I haven't used Advanced Server, but on Server I didn't have to do anything. Just run the "Configure My Server" wizard and it automatically configured the server for DHCP, DNS, and AD.

Up and running (and "talking") withing minutes.

Is this a standalone server, or a domain controller? Either way, click Start-->Programs--> Administrative Tools and choose DHCP. From there you can setup your server as a DHCP server. Best practice is to give your server a static IP, then exclude it from the scope. Visit www.netwerkin.com

Thanks so much for your suggestions, I was able to get it done with the "Configure My Server" option.

Thanks for you help.
