Hi,
I'm quite a newbie to networking, so I need to ask what I imagine will be a simple question.

Could you tell me how I can determine the DHCP range/scope and ip exclusions of a server?

thanks for any help.

I am not aware of anyway to do so, except in the Server's DHCP software. I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

Are you trying to do it remotely? If so, you would have to write an application that forged MAC addresses and requested IP addresses until no more were allocated (then you'd probably want to expire the leases). Of course this will not give you everything, but it will give you an idea of the scope and range.

If you are looking for it locally, I believe that we need to know what OS you are running. If it is Windows, there is a tool that allows you to view and configure the DHCP server, I just don't remember where it is. Haven't used Windows in a long time, and didn't create a lot of DHCP servers when I did. For *nix, just search for dhcpd.conf.
