After I upgrade to release three i began getting a lot of these errors. are these bad? I mean they just mean the lease expired but why didn't it renew them? is it because they already got a new lease after the upgrade and it had the old database?

Something we've found useful & others might;

First of all, a Full backup (including voice mail messages) has time value and therefore is only useful for immediately going back and so should be considered as a '24-hour' backup (ergo, limited-use) at the most.
Secondly, the likelihood of ever needing to immediately go back to a prior load is rare, but if you're that anal about it make 2 backups; 1 full and 1 intermediate

With that in mind, a full backup is technically tainted in the sense that its only good for immediately going back.
"Go back" any longer than 24 hours from now and your going to get complaints.

By contrast an interim backup is theoretically almost good forever, at least that is until you (or your users) make any more changes.

We use an interim backup and then for the next week keep a written log of any CDE changes we make.
Granted this won't pick up user-programmed changes, but in reality most users are creatures of habit and aren't going to be changing their forwarding willy-nilly - and if they do, well its not the end of the world or as bad as getting your voice mails overwritten with something from a week ago.

When my company does an upgrade, we always take a FULL and a MEDIUM backup prior to upgrade. The intention is to use the FULL if things go wrong with the upgrade. But Mitel has said in the past that due to the large size of the FULL backup, there is a small possibility of corruption, which is why we also perform the MEDIUM backup. Basically, we cover our butts twice.

For regular maintenance or MAC work, we always take a MEDIUM backup before leaving even if someone was just there the day before. It only takes a couple of minutes and potentially saves a headache!

Absolutely correct. Anytime you make programming/database changes you should ALWAYS take a medium backup, just to PYA.

so are you guys telling me that all of you that have an sx200icp v3.0.2.8 and are using it as a DHCP server for both phones and computers are not getting this error? i say error but it just shows up in the logs in fact it may not be an error at all but just a new notice they started to log in v3. but that doesn't make sense because if its not an error is just clogging up my logs that just makes it longer to look through.
