Can anyone tell me why my network would issue duplicate ip
addresses

Could you expand on this? Is the duplicate IP address on a VLAN or different subnet? Are the clients on the same subnet when they get the dup ip adx?

Check your DHCP scope and see if there are any overlaps.

Also check if your workstations have static IP addresses, I am aasuming that you may have just converted from static IP addressing to DHCP.

If these doesn't solve the issue, please let me know how your network was configured so I could help you better.
