Good Day;
Our company has more than 500 Companies; i'm new employee here... but unfortuntley they're using Static IP Address Assignment for the Whole PCs???!!!!

Do any one have any suggestions or comments on how can i Enable the DHCP service?
I should be mentioned here that there're 7 Locations for the Company.

First you need to find out what addresses are currently in use, and which items need to remain static. Determine what subnets are in use, and what subnets will be used. If they have to remain on the same subnet, do you have any addresses available? How is your routing between locations done? (This is important because some protocols do no allow VLSM's, if that is what you are planning to use). What will you use for a DHCP server (a Win2k/2k3 server? Router? etc.)?

You will have to set up your DHCP scope as the full range you want then add exclusion for what exists. Then change a handful over at a time until they are all DHCP.

So lets say you are using a Win2k server, and your network is 192.168.1.0/24. You find out that the addresses in use are 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.150 and you need to keep 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.50 static. Set up your DHCP scope for 192.168.1.51 - 192.168.1.254, and then exclude 192.168.1.51 - 192.168.1.150. Then set up the machines with static addresses 192.198.1.101 - 192.168.1.150 as DHCP. These will grab addresses 192.168.1.151 - 192.168.1.200. Then change your exclusions to 192.168.1.51 - 192.168.1.100 and do it all over again with the lower address range.

500 companies in 7 locations? The one thing you left off is how many machines per company. If there is only one pc per company, and it's using a class b subnet, this is not going to be a problem. DHCP wouldn't be needed in this case. So how many pc's are we talking?
