Until recent I had an IPO 412 3.0 (40) with about 50 iP phones on a 172.19.x.x subnet and the customers network on a 10.30.1.x subnet. Each server had its own DHCP server.
The IPO 412 was acting as a router and the main server from the customer was used as management station and supposed to work as TFTP server.
For obvious reasons this was not a desirable situation. So we started to move both subnets to the 172.19.x.x.
The DHCP on the fileserver was setup with the Option 176 as described.
Everything went well for he PC’s etc but the IP-phones did not start properly anymore.
After the DHCP sequence the phones displayed “finding router”for about 1,5 seconds and the a scrolling message of a “wrong L2Q parameter in the DHCP or looping in XX.scr file”.
I checked the 46XX upgrade.scr and did not find any loop in the script for the 4602SW.
On the doc CD I found additional lines for the 46XXsettings.txt:
## 4600 Site Specific Settings
SET L2Q 2
# end of file.
But there was no difference in behaviour of the phones. Because all the phones where out of order I decided to split the network again and have the IPO for the DHCP services again. But now I can’t route anymore to the other subnet because they are now two separate 172.19.x.x networks.
Does anybody has an idea wat can be wrong, because I can’t realy troubleshoot this system without going down for quit some time.
