I am having a rather odd problem.

We have recently implemented a new DNS and DHCP server within our business.

The DNS server sits on the DHCP server.

When a particular client machine connects to the network the machine is allocated a leased address but does not pick up the 'Connection-specific DNS suffix' has no value assigned to it? All other client machines contain a value and this machine has been configured exactly the same as the faulty machine? Any ideas why this is happening?

Need more information like Windows versions, IP etc.

thanks,

Assuming the DNS/DHCP services are running on something like Win2003, I would first of all run IPCONFIG /All on the client(s) to check the DHCP and DNS server IP addresses are what you expect them to be.

Are all your clients on the same OS, and same patch level? MS have recently issued DHCP patches for XP Pro amongst others.
