DFS Read-Only in Windows 2000

I have setup and configured DFS as a fault tolerant backup. I have had it working before but had to reconfigure when ready to use it live.

I can map the drive \\DOMAIN\DFS\SHARE fine.

Works perfectly depending on which server it decides to grab. If it grabs the primary server you get full access, but if it grabs the secondary server you get only read only.

Can someone give me some tips on what to look for.

Double check that the permissions on the DFS share located on the secondary server matches the primary server.

Thanks, that was one of the first things I checked. All permissions are identical on both shares and directories.

Also went as far as checking DNS settings.

Which share did you check permissions on?

Make sure you check share and file permissions on the \\server\dfs share on both machines, not just the shares for the links below the root.

I checked permissions on both server shares, which is the weird bit. Very frustrating.
