Device not ready??? Please help.

Hi,
I'm trying to create new backup to disk folders using Exec 8.6. However when I try and seleted the new backup to disk folder I am told the device is not ready. I have tried to do this on various folders to no avail. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
