hello
i tried my first use of the CDROM in my HPC3000(HPUX11.0). i put in a disk, successfully mounted it, looked at the files then reached over and pushed the "exit" button on the drive.
nothing happened and i decided it was because i did not first unmount the drive. now, when i try to unmount it, i get the message that the device is busy and cannot unmount.

i tried unmounting both using SAM and manually with the umount command.

i show only 3 processes running, two shells and the ps command itself.

....help?

fuser /dev/dsk/cxtxd0 (CD-ROM)
-or-
fuser /CD-ROM (mount-point)

kill all process associated or:

fuser -k /dev/dsk/cxtxd0

BTW, you must to get out from the cd-rom, i mean: "cd /" befour unmount it..

thanks Chacalinc.....that did it.

specifically it was
fuser -k /dev/dsk/cxtxd0
that worked for me.

much appreciated.
