So, someone advised me to reset the router to factory spec to use:

ERASE START

I did and now I get this error:

Device does not contain a valid magic number
boot: cannot open 'flash'
boot: cannot determine first file name on device 'flash'

I just wanted to start over and now I dont know what to do.It looks as if I will need special access on cisco's site to download a new flash - I got this on ebay so no luck there...anyone have any ideas?

try dir flash: (semicolon is necessary)
depending on your platform the following might also work
dir bootflash:
dir slot0:

I can only boot into rommon mode. Its a 1751 and I have another one with a good flash but I've been tring to upload it from the router to a tftp server with no luck. It seems to always want to copy from my tftp server to the router - not the other way around which is what I need....copy tftp flash was a no go - also copy flash tftp was no good.
