Frens,

There is a tape that is stuck in a device. Legato is reporting the device as disabled. I need this tape to be unmounted. I tried to unmount this device, but I get msg saying the device is disabled.

Is there anyway to enable the device?

Btw, I dont' want to reset jukebox, coz there is a restore that is in process which is halted asking for this tape that is stuck.

Thanks,

what happens when you re-enable the device from the gui?

are you using unix? if you are you could create another stand alone device for this drive. i.e. if the drive is /dev/rmt/2cbn currently in networker you could create /dev/rmt/2hbn and try and mount the drive as a stand alone device.

I enabled the device and was able to get the tape out. Thanx

From the cmd prompt use the following command
mt -f \\.\Tape1 off
This will eject the tape using a scsi bus command.
If you are using a shared jukeboxs (storage nodes ) you will have to perform it from each storage node.

BTW I use a batch file listing all the drives, this cuts the time in half for a reset.
