Hello,
Inherited a Mitel SX-200 system. I have been programming extensions fine through IE web interface until today. When trying to activate a port as an extension I get the error "device count exceeded, check MOSS option"

Tried reading manual and searching forums but nothing with my particular error.

Thank you for your time and help,
Kenny

What type of device????

Form 4 has licensing for TDM devices and IP devices - You've exceeded one or the other.

Trunk, digital-analog-Ip phone count as device.

You need more licence or delete one of these.

@p011406
- IP phones are separate from TDM
- Recent versions of the ICP do not seem to count PRI trunks (at least by my reconning)
- TDM include Digital and Analog (and used to count trunks)
- Embedded VM ports are not counted at all (IP phones)

Deleting an IP phone will not help with adding a Digital set or analog set (or vice-versa)

This is why I asked for the device type.

if you go into maintenance then 1 for system, 2 to show and then 7 for LN_APP_COUNT then enter this will give you a snapshot of what your totals are and what you are allowed.

Really pandabear1? That is just too easy. I've always used my alarm totals. I never noticed that option.

yes it has been there for years, not sure how far back but to at least 200EL and I believe further but can't remember how far back. What can get confusing is if you use phantoms, you will see more totals than allowed.

@kwbMitel
It is just an analog phone. There are no IP phones on site. I will check form 4 when I get on site later today.

@pandabear1
I will check that option also.

If I have indeed exceeded licenses, do I need to contact the previous vendor to obtain more licenses?

Thanks for everyone's input!!

if this 200 you have is an EL it may cost a lot of money to even add one more license as compared to the 200ICP where you can buy one. When you look at totals post the total and what is allowed if this is an EL and we will be able to tell you if you have to may the big jump, as an example if you have a total allowed of 120 user devices and you need one more you have to 144, lots of $$$$$. You will have to go to Mitel or whoever has access to Mitel to buy more licenses.

The cost might even be more if you are not the registered owner of the system

There would then be a relicensing fee

you have reached your maximum users of 216, you can buy more licences, this looks to be a 200ICP so you are in luck, you can buy one at at time

In all likelyhood some of your programmed sets are not in use

With analog sets there is no way to check

With dnic or ip you can check each port to see if a set is plugged in

In maintenance - report/show/bay-slt-Cct

Select first port with dnic or ip

Select 1 - CP-DWA
The screen will tell you in the lower left what device type is connected
If you see ??? Then no device connected

also if you have extensions that are call forward always for whatever reason and have a plid with actual hardware these may be able to move to a phantom bay and they don't count in the totals, they actually do count but you can go over your totals with phantoms. I use them all the time.
