I am needing to determine what version of firmware to upload to some phones for a customer.
Customer is running on software R016x.02.0.823.0.
In the attached picture, the black phone is a working phone sent to me by our customer; it has the correct firmware version which I need to load onto the other 2 grey phones.

I can dock the 2 grey phones to my Avaya cradle and the phones are accessible thru the HAT tool on my PC.
However the black phone will not talk with the HAT tool, so I cannot determine what firmware the black phone is using.

Any thoughts? Feeling quite stuck; let me know of any further needed details.

The Avaya one might be running a specific Spectralink/Avaya firmware that makes it operate like a 46xx/96xx set and follows Avaya type set administration.

What model is it exactly?

All 3 phones have the same model listed on their back labels, which says Model No. 802X.

What models/firmwares do the 3 say when they power on. As far as I can remember, there was always something different about branded Spectralinks vs Nortel 2211s or Avaya 3645s that were rebranded. Unless you had WMM for QOS in your wifi environment, they always needed to proxy through a controller - either a Spectralink 2245, or rebranded in Avaya as AVPP.

I haven't dealt with the wireless phones in a long time but I do recall that vendor branding persisted through the handsets and the controllers you had to use, etc

Upgrade to the latest HAT software which is on support.avaya.com. The "black" phone is the latest vintage. You can also find 3641/3645 software on the same web site.

Thank you for the replies.
I have HAT 4.1.4, which I obtained from support.avaya.com.
I had downloaded the 34XX/61XX, so I will try the 36XX range that you are referencing and see if I have any luck.
Thanks again. I'll post what I find.

The two on the right are probably not Avaya 3641/3645 (they do not have Avaya on the bezel) and are probably the equivalent Spectralink 8020/8030. If that is the case, then they will NOT be able to load the H.323 software which is required to run on your CM. Look at the label under the battery. If the label says "Avaya Comcode:" then it is an Avaya-branded model and should work.
