Hello All Citrix Guru's
I have the need to determine what external IP addresses are associated with a particular user's session.
My scenario is as such, I have a Point of Sale application published out to several outlet stores across a geographically disperse area. For support simplicity, I am considering to deploy VNC to all the outlet store PC's, to allow me to provide remote support of their local PC's (published application support will continue to be done via shadowning sessions). To connect to PC's, I need to determine the external NAT'd IP address of the site. The Internet service provided to each site currently is DSL, with dynamic IP provision to the router.
I know that within the Citrix management console, you can view the session information for a connection, including a client IP address, however the address displayed is the clients local IP address (i.e. 192.168.x.x).
With the Windows 2000 NETSTAT utility, I can determine what sessions are established with the server including the external IP addresses used for the connection, however it does not display what user account or Citrix session is associated with that conversation.
I need something which would marry the two together, to provide me the userID of the user which launched the application, as well as the external IP address which that PC's traffic is originating from. With those pieces of information, I can derive the address and port I need to use to connect to a PC's VNC session at a particular store.
Hope someone out there can help out with this.
Regards,
Ruster.
