Hello People

Whenever I open an new IE page it shows in the status "Detecting Proxy Settings" and takes severl seconds more like 15 to 20 to open a new page

Also on a search results page when I make a selection and prmpt it to open in a new page it crashes!! and closes all open IE pages..

Any ideas

Thanks

Word to the wise...

Just wanted to point out that the "automatically detect settings" entry was the likely culprit that you unchecked. I would caution anyone else following this fix to only change that entry.

Any others (like the proxy configuration script) are likely set for a reason if they are checked. The company I work for, as one example, requires that entry to be enabled for "external" internet access.

This checkbox i used when the proxy settings are provided by the dhcp server.
