Does anyone know if there is a way to detect whether a user is from the UK. I have considered using an IP to Location database but the one I have found is too large for my webspace.

A cut down version of the database that only has UK values would be good.

I am basically trying to detect whether a user is from the UK so I can deliver UK specific content.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Or use the IP2Location database and remove any IP addresses that are not in the UK.

Run your IP check against the cut down version and if there is not a match then they are not from the UK.

We did this once when we wanted to find users from China or The States - the db was huge so we just deleted any IP address that did not belong to either of those two countries and cut it down substantially.
