Desktop Shortcuts to Run Reports

I have a generic report that is run company wide... but all I really want is to add a short cut to their desktops that runs this common report...instead of them having to go to our crystal server, login, pick a folder then pick a report.

Is there anyway to do this?

Could you schedule the report to run as a pdf then save that in a network folder... then create a shortcut to that path and filename?

not really... they will have to enter a invoice number (parameter) to generate the report

Which version of CR and CE / BOE are you using...?

You could write a small custom web-application in Java or .Net using the SDKs.

The custom application would contain the session info to login and map to that RPT object on the crystal server. The first things they would see is the parameter prompt for the invoice number.

Then point the desktop shortcut to that URL for the web-application.
