Windows XP Pro. Where is this picture stored? A friend wants me to email her the photo I use for my desktop and I cannot find it for the life of me.

No, I replaced the original photo with one I found on the net. If I could find it again I could save it and email it to her. I never actually saved it per se, I just rt clicked it and selected "set as desktop background".

Howver it must be saved somewhere, the question is where.

location of "set as background" file?
thread779-962011

Search for the filename available from the Display Properties/ Desktop/ Background

If you still can't find it try Folder Options/ View and Show Hidden and System files.

FAQ did not work. I did find wallpaper1.bmp but that was my old photo not the current one.

There are no files like the ones described in documents and setting\username\local settings\application data\microsoft\internet explorer.

I also always show hidden and system files.

Any other ideas?

If you right-click on the desk-top and select Properties the Display Properties dialog will come up.

Select the Desktop tab.

The current picture used for the background should be highlighted, and if you click Browse... you can see where it is.

Mintjulep that did it. Got any picks for the derby this year?
