I have a task to change desktop logon every month on 1000 PC.
what's the best way I accomplish this task? Answer definitely is GP but just want to get some feedback from experts.

Is it better to use GP or logon script?
Where do I store the logo?

Hi Mark,
I think the reason the desktop is not displayed for windows 2000 pc is because I am using wallpaper.jpeg.

I tried to configure WMI filter so that his only applies to xp but for some reason it is also applying to 2000 pc's.

If I can make wmi filter work than I can have two GP one for xp with .jpeg wallpaper and one for 2000 with .bmp wallpaper.

Note(I am using loopback procession with this gp)

This is what I found. WMI filter has no affect on win 2000 and earlier OS

Note that these WMI filters only work on Windows XP and later operating systems. Windows 2000 and earlier clients just ignore any WMI filter and the GPO is always applied to all objects. In effect it means that for these old clients the criteria are always true so there is no filtering.
