Talking with someone whos Win98 computer is stuck with a white background color. There is no spyware, adware, etc. on the machine, I've checked that out. The wallpaper is set to None. Video card drivers are installed & set to 24bit color. For some reason now the desktop is white instead of the default greenish color. Under the appearance tab in the display properties, changing the "desktop" setting does not affect the background at all. Tried changing it to red, blue, yellow, etc. but it will not change, the desktop background always stays white.

Any ideas?

Hi Dakota:

Here is a possible solution:

Go to: Start
Settings
Active Desktop
Customize Desktop

Press on <ENTER> and most likely your Desktop will revert to Green, or whatever color it was.

I hope this will help.

Charles.
