Start computer no icons,start menu,right click.I can do an alt+control+ delete and get to task manager that's it.Mouse works and so does key board.

Right click on start, select properties, on the start menu bar, click on classic start menu. do you get anything?

There is no start menu nada nothing.I checked in Task manager under processes and there is no explorer.exe.Is the file corrupt.

In Task Manager Click on File then New.

Type explorer.exe, does explorer load? Do you get any error messages?

What happens when you start in safe mode?

Safe mode black screen.Type in new task explorer.exe nothing.Type contol panel and icons appear and regain desktop,reboot and reverts to blank desktop.

Once you get back to your desktop then Click on Start > Then Run > Type "SFC /Scannow" > Click OK.

You will need to have your XP cd, but this will make sure all the essential system files are on your PC and not corrupted.
