Desktop icons are all Blue as if selected

Hi folks,
My Desktop of XP shows all the Icons in blue, as if they have been selected. Any ideas how it can be corrected? Many thanks in advance!

Hi Linney,
Thanks for your suggestion. I did try to log on as different user and there was no problem there. Then I ran some scans and found some infections (nothing serious though) but it still didn't work after removing these infections. Then as a last resort, I did the system Restore which fixed it.
