hey guys, one of our users asked me something and now i'm kind of into that little thing.

How can I change the font color on my desktop icons? (winXP)

:) sorry :)

on the desktop, right click and then select properties, then select appearance on the tabs, that lets you change how it looks.

One quick reboot later & no change to the colour, so ignore the above link to realityrift. It appears that the program hasn't been updated for some years now.
Anyway, I am sure there will be a program out there that will do it.

yeah,.. its a simple thing i thought,.. i can change the font type/ fontsize/ font bold but i couln't find the font color for the desktop icon,... well, thats alright guys thanks for your help

My understanding is the font color is hardcoded thjrough Windows. Others have reported that changing the background color (and presumably removing any wallpapers) will change the font to dark with a light background, and vice versa (I have not been able to confirm this).

Microsoft has this to say about it:

if it is doable, it will be with a third party app. I am not sure if one of the Power Tools kits lets you change this setting or not.
