Desktop and My Documents in wrong profile

When the user logs in as domain user she gets her desktop etc all okay.

When she saves a file to the desktop or to my documents it ends up in the old profile location (new machine built, transfered profile)

documents and settings\lori\desktop gets the file when it should go to

documents and settings\lori.storm\desktop

any ideas how to fix this with the least amount of user impact?

When you copied her profile did you exclude the three .nt files?

I have no idea what these .nt files may be. You should not copy:

• Ntuser.dat
• Ntuser.dat.log
• Ntuser.ini

The Domain user SID has not changed but the machine SID for the user has on the new machine, and subsequently the behavior you are experiencing is correct. Follow the advice in this KB article to "fix" this behavior:
