Greetings,

Merlin Magix

I have a phone extension that shorted out but is still active on the voice mail system and can receive calls. I can access its voice mail but the physical extension is dead.

I would like to forward calls from that shorted out extension to another working extension but can't find out how to program the forwarding number.

Normally I would program a button and then follow the process to enter the forwarding number on the phone itself but since I can't get the extension to light up I can't enter the forwarding number.

I've been told I can do this from the operator console phone which is a 4424LD+ but I haven't found any documentation.

I have gone into winspam maintanence and tried to restore that port/station but that didn't resolve the problem of the shorted out extension.

any help would be appreciated....thanks

You could put a Primary Coverage button for the dead extension on the phone that you want to answer the calls:

SPKR, #00, Press a blank button with LED's, Dial *40, Dial the Extension Number you want to cover, press ENTER under the LCD display.

You could use Follow Me at the answering extension to remotely forward the original extension:
SPKR, #34, the original extension number.

To actually forward the extension, go into System Programming fro the Operator phone, then Extensions, the Right Arrow button until you see Auth Code, then put in the extension, and make up an Authorization Code that is the same as the extension number.

Then, from any keyphone, press SPKR-#80-(the auth code)-#-*33-the destination extension number.

If you reboot the system,(power down and then power up) the shorted port may come back to life. I have done this before.

thanks Tommy!

I think I shorted out my brain along with the extension!

you're work around with a coverage button will do the trick!!!
