Hi
Can I use regini/regedit tool to deploy a registry permission fix to a few machines at once. If so any pointers greatly appreciated

many thanks

Stuart

what you need to do is:

Make the changes to the registry.
In Regedit, locate the key that you wish to alter on your target machines (e.g. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Network\Logon)
Make sure that the appropriate key is highlighted in the left hand pane
Go to the "Registry" menu, and select Export Registry File from the dropdown list
Select a filename for your registry file, ensuring that the text box at the bottom of the window points to the key which you have edited, and that the checkbox labelled "selected branch" is ticked (otherwise youll export the whole registry)

This will produce a .reg file, which you can then distribute and double click on to install the registry changes

We distribute patches this way via email, and it works well for us

Hope this has been of some help

Ricky
