Deny the saving of Bitmaps

Is there a way to physically prohibit users from saving bitmaps (*.bmp) on to a shared drive

I don't think so. not without third party software anyway.

You could write a batch file to copy bmps off the drive every day.

Or you could remove the paint utility altogether - try this line to remove - you can put it into a batch file and distribute via sms or in a login script :

rundll32.exe setupapi.dll,InstallHinfSection PaintUninstall 132 <winnt>\inf\accessor.inf
