I've been managing our Nortel Norstar system for some time now in the sense that: if minor changes are required, I can muddle through and get it done.

However, we have recently moved premises and are expanding the business, so I'll probably have a good few questions to ask over the coming weeks... starting with:

Auto Attendant.

We have never used it, but it may be quite useful to us now. I have been reading over the documentation for configuring it, setting up the tables, lines, greetings etc, and I'm fairly sure I should be comfortable configuring this, however in 'system administration' auto attendant is set to 'Off' and cannot be changed here.

I have tried the codes for enabling/disabling System Answer and CCR (f*831 and f*832 respectively) and I get 'denied in admin'.

Clearly I am missing something here, so I thought it best to ask the experts. Can anyone give me a brief overview of the process for enabling AA, and the initial setup thereof?

Many thanks in advance,
Karl :)

My bad... I posted too soon. I was clearly looking in the wrong place. I eventually realised that I should really have been looking in the Startalk180 admin (f*983) for the auto-attendant configuration, and sure enough it wasn't configured to answer any lines.

All sorted now :)
