Hi,

I'm trying to hook-up a MultiTech MultiVOIP MVP130 AV device to our Avaya CM 4.0. Everything works great and I can call into this device and target an Avaya extension. The call completes and I talk with the extension, but after so many seconds the call drops.

I look at sys logs and I see the device registers and after about 40 seconds, unregisters. This is a constant cycle, as the unit registers and unregistars on 40 second intervals. The network people are sayingit is the PBX. If so, can anyone suggest anything?

Below is a trace of the trunk tac (#12)

THANKS in advance!

Joe

Anyone have any suggestions on this one? I only have a few strands of hair left to pull out. By tomorrow they may be gone. Thanks :)

Joe

Have you downloaded and installed the latest firmware for the multivoip. I hav had similar issues which were resolved by this

Yes, I downloaded both the latest firmware for the unit and the MultiVoip configuration software.

This unit works well on another Avaya system (3.0) but not on the system to which it needs to be installed permanently. So we know it isn't the MultiVOIP MVP unit intself. It really has us puzzled.

Joe

Hoping to put this continuing problem out to the group still. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks so much!

Joe

Those MultiVoip units are a pain in the b*m.
I have some that I eventually got working on a CM4 system, there were a number of tweaks for the system. I can dial in to the site and get you some screen snaps tomorrow. I never did get the fax to work reliably though, and they will not go faster than 9600 baud for a modem call.
Are you using for fax/data or voice?

Speak softly and carry a big switch

Hi Nick..
I am using these for voice only. I REALLY appreciate you capturing your setup.

Regards,

Joe

Hi mjotech,
We have the same problem. After 3,4 call, the MVP130av (and also MVP210av), seem to be disconnect to ACM (v5.2).
Have you resolved the problem?

I used g711 codec for fax and modem connection and work fine (on ACM , ip-code-set, codec=g711A, fax=relay, modem=off).

With wireshark i have seen every 50 sec, some request from TA to CM (CLAN)RAS Registrationrequest (and Registrationconferm from clan). Is correct?
If you or anyone any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks so much!

Check the signaling group and verify the RRQ is set to "n". This fixed it for me.

Did you fix it?
I'm experiencing same problem. CM5.2, after some seconds the call drops.

Yes, Its fixed.. Please see my post regarding the RRQ in the signaling group. Must be set to "N".

Strange, my RRQ is set to 'y' on 12 sites and I don't have any issues. I wonder if it is because I'm using MVP210AV's.

Sorry for delay, but i never yet check the RRQ parameter.
But, the RRQ in the signaling grp is not a typical configuration for trunk (ip, tie, isdn, ...)?
In my scenario I have configured on CM only a node name and one station h.323 for the Multivoip.
