Hello to everyone,

im trying to record an announcement by phone, but i got denial 1799.
this was working fine earlier, i probably changed by mistake the source? according to the explanation of 1799?
If thats the case, how im suppose to find out what to put in source field?

Yes i am aware of the explanation of the error code, thats why i was asking the question about the source.

You cannot use dial access to record an announcement that is programmed in an audio group.
/* (1799) Deny recording/deleting if announcement is part of an audio group. */

You can assign a new announcement extension and record a .wav file, then copy the .wav file to each valboard in the associated audio group for your announcement.
Another option is to temporarily remove the announcement from the audio group and place it on one valboard so it can be recorded using dial access. Copy the changed .wav to all valboards for the audio-group and put the announcement back into the audio-group.

@randycarroll, thanks for the docuymentation! it was very helpful!
As i understand, since i have media servers, i could actually set one of them (we have 4) and thats it?
The announcement will be recorded and stored to one of the media servers, but when it suppose to be heard , will play form all 4 of them ? or when a call must hear the announcement, CM will use the media server that the announcement is stored?

The file has to exist on all boards/servers in an audio group if the announcement is programmed to that audio group. As AvayaTier3 stated, you can record to one board/server and then copy it to the other boards/servers. If the announcement file only exists on one board/server but is part of an audio group there could be an instance when CM tries to play the message but nothing is played because there is no file.

Announcements are played from Val, Vval, and Announcement boards, not servers. PC's/Servers can be a place to store backups of .wav files.
The .wav file on each Val or Announcement board should match if boards are associated with audio group(s).
Announcements can only be recorded using the pbx feature-access dialcode if on one Val / Announcement board. Valboard announcements are
stored in .wav format on each board. ftp can be used to backup or copy .wav files from PC's/Servers to Val announcement boards over LAN
networks if announcement data-module is assigned to the board and a LAN network connection is working.
